Faces and New Carpet

This is Michael's "face." He started doing it about 6months ago. I would be a the computer working, and he would come up, pat my leg and say, "MOM!" I would turn to THIS face. It freaked me out the first couple of times. It is such a blank-emotionless stare that I actually thought he was going into having a seizure! Now he can turn it on and off. It is pretty funny!! He does it all the time to get me to laugh out loud...especially if he is NOT minding so well!!!

So the last step before our condo goes on the market is new carpet. WHITE carpet. To save money (my hubby the thrifty one) we un-installed the YUCK that was there...so that the carpet installers could come in the following Monday. We replaced ALL carpeted areas in our home...and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the finished result!!! Needless to say our painting days are OVER. I figured I would let the kids have one last hurrah with the paint before we move. They were astonished when mom painted on the FLOOR!!! It only took them 5 times EACH asking, "Really Mommy, we paint the floor???" It was super fun!

MaKinley and her mullet!! It is disgusting, I know. It has just taken all of her two years to grow this hair...but alas..it is gone!! I chopped the bottom layer after a dear friend of mine suggested she "help" me cut Kinley's hair! Those are the special dear friends that you hold even closer. The ones that will tell you the truth about your daughter's hair. "Ummm, Mom...your daughter has a mullet and I am embarrassed for you. Here..let me help you fix this atrocity!!" :) Sara, I love you dearly! Next post will be of MaKinley's new haircut!

By the end of the day, almost the entire floor was covered!

So Ryan would tear up the old carpet and pad...and then individually pull out about 5000 staples! We got a great routine down with Ryan popping them up, Matthew pulling them out, and Michael vacuuming them up! Aren't they GREAT little helpers?

SOOOOO...that is all I have! I know I am leaving you empty handed with out the NEW carpet pics..but we are so close to being FINISHED that I am saving those pics for the very end!

ps. We received new carpet on the boy's 4th birthday. I have pics to post on that...but it will be another day. Love you all~michelle
